Chi Zhang, Ph.D., currently works at Shanghai AI Laboratory, focusing on AI4Sciences research.
Previously: Associate Researcher at the National Key Laboratory of Multi-modal Artificial Intelligence, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Associate Researcher at the AI and Robotics Innovation Center, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Research interests include multi-modal data processing, scientific data agents, computer vision, and computational imaging. Principal investigator of 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects (1 Youth Fund, 2 General Programs); principal investigator of a sub-project of the "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" major project; and leading researcher on multiple projects including key NSFC projects with total funding exceeding 20 million RMB.
Published over 20 papers in top journals (TIP/PR/Science China Information Sciences, etc.) and conferences. Holds more than 10 national invention patents. Awarded Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class), China Innovation Challenge Award, and multiple competition prizes.
